How to write a TV drama script

The famous elements of a script are:
  • actions
  • dialogue
  • speakers names
the actions are written in present tense.

The font style - courier (new)

Key aspects of a script:
  • page number - centred in the header
  • scene number
  • scene header - description of where and when it takes place
  • action - what the characters do and what takes place
  • character name
  • character tag - special instructions for dialogue where the speaker is unseen
  • parenthetical - a small note on how the dialogue is delivered
  • dialogue
  • transition - directions on how to change from one scene to the next

Use of 'continued'
Where a scene continues from one page to the next (CONTINUED) must be added at the bottom of each page where the break occurs, it's then added at the top of the next page.
